Oslo, Norway – Part 2

Oslo, Norway – Part 2

While traveling in Oslo I had the opportunity to visit the Vigeland Sculpture Park. It is the world’s largest sculpture park made by a single artist. I had never seen anything like this park. It is truly a wonder that one person made all those sculptures in the park. The sculptures are so different. So much so that I wanted to take an individual picture of each sculpture. It’s almost as if he wanted to represent different kind of Norwegians with the sculpture garden. The garden is a marvel, something to be seen. Not far from the Vigeland Sculpture Park is a beautiful cemetery that I also visited. I love cemeteries. There’s something beautiful about them. I always walk in cemeteries and wonder about the people who are lying underneath the ground. I often wonder about their lives, and what they did while they lived. Were they nice people, were they rich, were they sad, were they interesting, did they write books, were they involved in a war. I imagine all kinds of stories from the names on the headstones. I also often marvel at the ways that different municipalities organise their cemeteries, and also where they decide they should be. One of the most amazing cemeteries I have seen was in St Tropez, and the cemetery was basically at the beach. I was so moved by the cemeteries and their beautiful positioning. Anyway, ….. here are some beautiful pictures from the sculpture garden and a few from the cemeteries.
