Tulbagh Adventures – Part 3

This is the last instalment of my Tulbagh adventures. The two previous posts were the part 1 and part 2 of my Tulbagh adventures that document a single day while on a summer weekend away. The day was super packed as we drove to the Hex River Valley, and on the way to the valley we stopped to take pictures with bales of hay, and then the last stop, Twee Jonge Gezellen, was probably the best part of the Tulbagh adventures. The Twee Jonge Gezellen is basically the House of Krone, a farm that produces vintage-only South African Mรฉthode Cap Classiques. This is one of South Africa’s oldest farms and produces some of the country’s favourite bubblies. It was such a pleasure to be at Twee Jonge Gellen because the farm is beautiful, complete with a great tasting space overlooking vineyards and the mountains and a huge open gallery space.

Wine tasting is an experience. The people at House of Krone know this. They have perfected the art of the tasting experience. It starts with a good reception of people joining a tasting space. The energy of the tasting space which is created by people who work in the tasting room. It helps, of course, to have excellent wine to taste. A beautifully designed tasting space adds value to the experience of tasting wine. At the House of Krone they get all of this right. It is a great mixture of modern efficient service and amenities, with the old world charm and a tradition of good MCC making at a historic farm. It’s the best of all world’s really. So, of course, there were many pictures taken from this experience. I wanted to be in all of them. I hope you enjoy looking at these pictures as much as I enjoyed making them.
