The Overberg is a special place. In mid-December, I attended a wedding in the Overberg. The wedding was something beautiful. It was in the woods amongst nature. The wedding was constructed in the style of the couple. As my research on same-sex marriage demonstrates, weddings are all about the identity of the couple, and what the couple wants the world to envision them. Weddings are also about hopes for the future, the hopes of the couple about their future. The wedding was away from the city, which meant we had to stay over, which is an opportunity to discover some parts of the Overberg. So after the wedding, on the way back to Cape Town there was some exploring to do. There are small towns, wineries, farm stalls, and gorgeous scenery to discover. Here are some photographic memories from being up and about in the Overberg.
