Buenos Aires, Argentina ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ท

I went to my first international academic conference in Buenos Aires in 2013. I was very excited because it made me feel all grown up. It also made me feel like I was really pursuing my dreams. I was in the city for a week, SO I could only see a little bit of the city because I was there, after all, to be at a conference. The conference focussed on queer issues, and I was delivering a paper on the disruption of Joburg Pride.

The city is amazing. It is filled with culture and all kinds of beautiful art. I was there mostly during the week, so didnโ€™t do too much going out. I did some sightseeing and that was impressive.

The city has a โ€œfaded gloryโ€ feel about it. The buildings havenโ€™t been painted in a while. The roads are old. All of this you would think would be depressing, but actually gave the city an old world feel that made it romantic and charming.

I want to go back there one day so that I can explore the city more intently.
