It is amazing how carefully placed stripes can connect you to ancient worlds. How they can connect you to a people, and to forgotten truths. When I adorn my stripes I am transported to a past that through a collective creativity, a collective consciousness, we bring to the future. To adorn my stripes is to say Ndizalwa Ngabenguni, and that in grand statements or in quiet solitudes, is to know that andihambi ndendwa. Recently, I found myself hypnotically inspired by the Ratala-Machaba aphorism, “Be your ancestors wildest dreams.” Has there ever been a more glorious call!?

I have really enjoyed assembling the www.DrScott.co.za website. It’s really been a labour of style, culture, fashion, and of course LOVE. I love beauty. I want to live in it, live by it, be overwhelmed by it, drown in it, and if necessary be consumed by it.
